  Kami ke sini untuk mengurus paspor kakak yang hilang. Ternyata paspor kakak saya ada yang mengembalikan ke kedutaan. Di kedutaan staffnya ramah2, terutama Bp Teguh Budi Santoso yang membantu kami. Terima kasih Pak Budi. Hati2, satpamnya galak dan reseh.

  Called to see if this embassy issues the "Sosial Budaya" (Social Visa) and received confirmation that they do. They also advised when applying for this visa you need to supply the following items: - Application form (which you receive & fill out at the embassy) - Return ticket (needs to show entry into Indonesia) - Sponsor Letter - Photograph 3 x 4 (x 2 copies) - Proof of bank account (latest statement) - minimum balance req’ed USD1500 - Visa fee USD50 (Cash only) Note: this information was correct at the time of the call (June 2017), but obviously it's subject to change! The contact I spoke to was very lovely, had excellent English, and was a great help ensuring I had all the information I needed. Re: 'Cash Only': You need to pay in USD for your visa application. We were not able to withdraw USD or exchange VND to USD at any of the banks nearby (or any that we tried in Hanoi). The embassy & locals both advised this is done at Gold Merchants (go to "Ha Trung" near Hang Da market). You need to arrange before you come to the embassy.
