  Had to pick up my DPRK visa here as arranged with the tour operator in Beijing. The Vietnamese guards at the gate tried to redirect me to the South Korean embassy first and then to the Chinese one. A passer-by helped me translate in Vietnamese and 5 minutes later I was in. Despite the place being fairly grim, with the shutters down and people smoking inside, everybody was extremely nice and welcoming. My visa was sorted in less than 10 minutes. The visa officer's English is impeccable.
